I have only been doing it for a few months, but people who have done it for years talk about how they used to get paid $2.20 a mile, which is a decent rate for a semi truck, and now they get paid 60,70, 80 cents. I very quickly found a lot of content hating on these companies Uber and Lyft, and thats when I started to go down the rabbit hole of how much the game has changed in ridesharing. Before I did it I went online to look for tips and tricks basically on how to maximize profit. At first I thought ridesharing could be a great gig, at the very least a great side hustle. At first I would read, stretch or go on my phone when I was not giving rides but after experiencing several instances where the app tricked me I can no longer do that and now anytime I am looking for a ride I have to pay attention and be vigilant, so I know I am not getting a shit ride. Anytime I have to use the restroom either use a piss jug, pee on the ground or go for a scavenger hunt looking for a public bathroom. Working very long hours where I sleep in my car to complete the bonuses, destroying my health being in a car all day sitting down, while having a hard time eating healthy and frequently. Putting miles on my car while dealing with very frequent maintenance. Besides Uber and Lyft being greedy, I am tired of working long hours with hardly any pay, where usually 20-25 percent of my earnings goes to fuel. I do not want to work another hour for a company making money off my back while i do not hardly make any money.
